Kerry Group to contribute €50,000 to support response by Concern
Concern is the Group's International Humanitarian partner organisation
Announcement by Stan McCarthy, Chief Executive
As everybody knows, the major earthquake which struck Haiti has caused catastrophic destruction in the western hemisphere's most impoverished nation. I know very many of our employees and shareholders have contributed financially to the relief funds established by the International Aid Agencies. Where employees wish to contribute collectively or organise fundraising activities in support of the relief programmes, Kerry businesses will also contribute on a regional basis to such employee initiatives.
At a corporate level, Kerry Group is contributing €50,000 to assist the work of its partner humanitarian aid agency 'Concern' in Haiti. Concern is on the ground in Haiti helping survivors - distributing water, food, medicine and shelter items to homeless families in the poorest slum areas of Saint Martin and Martissant.
Our support to this deserving cause is over and above the Group's on going corporate support to social, charitable and community projects.
