World Youth Day takes place every 3 years in a major city, and is the largest youth event in the world! From the 13th – 20th July, over 500,000 pilgrims from all over the world descended into Sydney to watch a series of events attended by Pope Benedict XVI, chanting and celebrating through Sydney's city.

Kerry Pinnacle supported the event, supplying product via Sara Lee Bakeries. With Pinnacles Manufacturing site Sugar & Spice located in Melbourne, Pinnacle produced 900,000 pieces of individually wrapped Caramel, Rocky Road, & Hedgehog Slice – products from Pinnacles Lifestyle Range, used as part of meal packs to feed the registered visitors at WYD08.

The 8 day event ended with a Final Mass celebrated by the pope on the last day, with thousands of pilgrims returning home.

World Youth Day in Sydney continues the tradition that has attracted millions of participants to the biggest celebration of young people on earth. Back
